The Aktivolt IoT Gen5 is a rugged, industrial-grade telemetry module designed for real-time monitoring and tracking in electric vehicles, stationary battery systems, and industrial assets. It acts as a gateway between field devices like BMS units and motor controllers and the cloud, with downlink support for CAN 2.0B and Modbus RTU over RS–485 and secure uplink via MQTT and HTTP over TLS to platforms such as AWS IoT and Azure IoT Hub. An integrated GPS receiver and 4G LTE modem with patch antenna enable reliable telemetry and location services even in remote or mobile deployments, backed by watchdog timers, secure boot, and OTA firmware updates for long-term, secure operation. With an internal backup battery and intelligent power management, the IoT Gen5 can continue logging and transmitting critical data for up to 30 days in sleep mode when the host system is powered down, making it an ideal, extensible platform for e–mobility, fleet diagnostics, renewable energy monitoring, and general IoT asset tracking.
